Face it, we all make bad decisions in life. I've made plenty. The best thing to do is admit it and own it when you do and not blame.
Look back at the moments in your life when you felt you were at your best. When you felt you were Doing your best work. Remember what made you great. Try to to emulate what you were doing during these times that made you great: attitude, work ethic, etc.
Sometimes, you have to work when you don't want to. You may be tired, sick, in pain or just don't feel like working. However, you can't always take a day off as you choose to. Sometimes, you have to work through it.
What happens from 9-5 during working hours is important. What happens from 5-9 is also important. How are you spending these hours.
If you work hard, your work will speak for itself. Usually, the top performers don't have to tell others about their accomplishments. Most people already know.
I always promote having more than one source of income, so if one goes away, another is still present.
Remember that we all have to do things at times we may dislike, but how are you spending your time when you have the choice? Are you doing something you love or something that will benefit your future? Spend your time wisely. Relaxing and rejuvenating once in a while is also a wise way to spend your time.
When I'm keeping myself busy doing the things I enjoy, working hard towards my goals and living life, I don't have time for drama, or worrying about nothing.
Before going back to where you used to be, remember why left and whether you want to go back into the same situation.
