I certainly received a lesson in preparedness today. One thing I can say is when taking on a presentation, take it very seriously and put in much effort as you can to prepare. This is true for any task you take on and for life in general.
Though we never really know when lightning will strike and the unexpected happens, we can do our best to prepare for the worst so it's less jarring. In life, we must be prepared, but also flexible. Things can change in life at the drop of a hat, and we must be ready to adapt.
How many "wow" moments have you had in life where something unexpected occurs. When faced with trials and tribulations, we must first use our available skills and resources to face these head on and pull through. After it's all said and done, look back and see if there is anything you can do differently if faced with similar circumstances in the future. Learn from the mistakes you made and do what you need to prepare for the future.
Life Coaching is a great profession. Life coaches give their clients a helping hand structuring the life they want to live. However, the ultimate responsibility is still up to the client. The field promotes personal responsibility in one's life. I equate it to a weight lifter and a spotter. The guy bench pressing (the client) is ultimately responsible for lifting the weight, the spotter is their to provide support and guidance. Life coaches generally don't heal in a medical based fashion; what they do is help a person structure their future so that they can live the life they want to live. Life coaches can assist in multiple areas, such as: relationships, personal finance, careers, health and many other things. Can a life coach help you? Maybe.

Time management is very important no matter what career path you are in and also just for daily life. Good time management skills are important so that you may finish what you set out to do in a timely manner. Before starting each week, determine what you have to get done, and divide them up into each separate day. Approximate how much time will be needed for each activity. Prioritize and do the most important tasks first. Write down the tasks that need to be completed and events that need to be attended in a planner or palm pilot. Whenever you remember something else that needs to be done, write it down immediately and do accordingly. Look at your planner every morning to remind yourself what you need done and do your best to get them done. Stick to the time constraints as much as possible. Save things like Facebook or checking email for later as doing this can completely sidetrack you. If a task wasn't completed on a certain day, it is your job to find free time so you can get the job done ASAP and definitely before any deadline. For example, if you need to write a speech and weren't able to get to it today, you need to find any spare moment, an hour hear, 30 minutes there, to work on it. Time management is such an important skill to have no matter who you are or what you do. Good time management allows you to be efficient and get many tasks done in a sufficient amount of time. Learn good time management skills.
Punctuality is very important characteristic to have. If you need to be at a certain place by a certain time, be there at that time. This includes: work, meetings, meeting up with friends and other social gatherings. Be at a certain place when you said or need to be there. Punctuality shows that you are responsible and respectful to other peoples' time. Be punctual.
People don't have to agree with your ideas, but they must respect you enough to allow you to live with the ideas you have; otherwise, they don't need to be in your life.
I will be doing book readings starting next month to help promote my book and myself. Will be doing a couple at the Santa Fe, NM Public Library on April 2nd at 6:30 PM and 6th at 4:30 PM. If there are any opportunities available, please let me know.
My new book should be out later this month, in a week or two. It will be available on amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and xlibris.com. Also, you should be able to go into your local bookstore and request to order a copy. I urge my website followers to get a copy of this book. The Title is: "Don't Live the Good Life; Live the Better Life". The title gives a good idea about the basis of this book. Basically, wherever you are in life, you can always make it better. I'm looking forward to this book coming out, I hope all of you read it and let me know what you think of it.
